Six Takeaways From Head Coach Del Rio's Friday Press Conference

The Oakland Raiders held their final practice Friday leading up to their Week 1 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at O.co Coliseum.

Following his team's final session of on-field work for the week, Head Coach Jack Del Rio addressed the media.

Here are the highlights from his press conference.

Head Coach Del Rio addressed the signing of linebacker Aldon Smith.

"He's a real good player and excited to have him join our family and looking forward to working with him."

He also spoke about Aldon Smith's expectations now that he's a Raider.

"What we'll ask him to bring every day is the same thing we ask of anyone else here. Come in every day full of energy, ready to work. Have a great attitude, be a great teammate, and find your role. And that's for every member of our football team. We ask the same of everybody."

Head Coach Del Rio also noted that the team did their homework before signing Smith.

"We're very thorough in what we do and how we do it, and so we feel very confident about the addition and about our football team going forward."

**He also said the team is in a good place heading into their Week 1 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

"I think we've had a good lead up to the open of the season. I feel like the team's in a good place. We've had a lot of productive time working together, and that started back in the offseason program and really, the entire time has been very productive with the work that we've put in."

There is a continuing effort to improve the roster.

"I would just say that from an organizational standpoint, we're constantly looking for opportunities to improve our roster. We're very thorough in terms of the work that goes into acquiring players, selecting players and all of that."

After a long training camp and preseason, the team's only concern at the moment is their matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

"I'm just concerned about us showing up and ready to give our best. We've got 46 guys that will be active on game day. We want to bring our best. We want to make this community proud of the effort we put forth."
