Head Coach Jack Del Rio has dubbed Tuesdays during the regular season as "Tell The Truth Tuesdays" – days where both players and coaches alike take responsibility, good or bad, for what occurred the previous Sunday.
The Oakland Raiders fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-35 on the road Sunday in Pittsburgh, dropping their record to 4-4.
With the defeat, the Silver and Black now find themselves back at .500, and Tuesday afternoon the players reflected back on their last-second, road loss at the hand of the Steelers and told the truth about their performance.
Cornerback David Amerson
"It was definitely a lot of us hurting ourselves. Like I said, I don't want to take anything away from him [Antonio Brown]; he's a great player, but we definitely gave him a lot, I know I did. For instance on deep balls, I'm expecting something else. Third and 6, I'm trying to jump inside routes and he's going vertical. They got the best of us that game."
**Guard Gabe Jackson
**
"Different things in the run blocking and pass blocking. Everything overall as a team, we have things that we can improve on."
Cornerback Neiko Thorpe
"It's probably a little bit of both. When we broke down the film, a lot of it was self-inflicted wounds, big yards, big chunks. If we would have just [done] our jobs than it wouldn't have happened, but we learned from it and we're just looking forward to next week."
