Shyla - B. Mahlon Brown Junior High School

Shyla is the leader both on the field and in the classroom for our team. She has 12 pick-sixes this season, with two games remaining. Due to her play, the team is on the verge of the playoffs. She has led a team that did not win a single game last year to 7 wins so far. Without her leadership on the field, the team would not be the same. Shyla is in our Magnet program here at Brown Junior High School, where she excels in all of her classes. She is also involved in after school All-Stars as well. She is a leader as a 7th grader and is willing to help her teammates become better. She ended the first quarter with a 3.2 GPA.

Nathan - Canarelli Middle School

Nathan started out as a wide receiver for our team, but we had to make some changes and moved him to the middle linebacker position. Ever since, Nathan has been a menace for the opposing team's offense. Nathan completely changed our defense and is responsible for most of our tackles (flag pulls), quarterback hurries, and even a pick-six. Our defense has become the toughest in our division, holding teams to zero points or well below their average scoring total. This is all because Nathan, our defensive captain, who took command of the defense and influenced his teammates to strive for excellence. Nathan is also a wonderful student-athlete. He stays out of trouble and leads by example in and out of the classroom. Nathan has A's in Math, History, Health, Science, Spanish, and Digital Design. All around, Nathan is the perfect example of striving for excellence on and off the field.

Beyond the numbers, Rodney is an undeniable leader on the field, encouraging & supporting his teammates. His exemplary sportsmanship and dedication make him an all-around true star. Rodney is the definition of a student-athlete. His success on the field is also noticed in his academic performance.
