The Raiders held their last practice of the week today at their Alameda facility in preparation for their home opener against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

At the conclusion of practice, Head Coach Dennis Allen gave his daily remarks and talked about the challenges that the Houston offense, and in particular WR Andre Johnson, present to his defense.

"He's been a great player in this league for a long time," said Coach Allen. "The thing about Andre is he runs great routes, and he's a big target to throw the ball to. He can run the underneath routes as well as beat you vertically down the field."

The Raiders have a final walk-through tomorrow before they open their 2014 home schedule on Sunday against the Texans, and in addition to the excitement of his first regular season home game, rookie Justin Ellis has another reason to look forward to the matchup.

"I have some family members coming up," Ellis said. "So on top of the Black Hole, I'm excited about my family coming up to watch me play my first home game."

He went on to say that he feels good about the work he's been able to get done in practice this week and that he's ready to put the pads on for the Silver and Black.

"I'm very excited," he said. "It's been a good week for me. The coaches have told me to just stay focused and do what I've been doing in practice and I should have a good game."

The Texans and Raiders will kick off their Week 2 contest at 1:25 p.m. PT at O.co Coliseum, so be sure to come back to Raiders.com for all things related to the game.
