Preseason Preview: Raiders host 49ers for second preseason game

The Las Vegas Raiders host the San Francisco 49ers for the second week of the preseason slate.

This is the third consecutive year that the Raiders and 49ers have faced off in the preseason.

The game is set to kick off at 1:05 p.m. PT from Allegiant Stadium. Here's what you need to know.

Opponent profile

The Niners are dealing with injuries across the board. After the joint practice Thursday, 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan noted that 20 players did not practice.

"It was a challenge to get through that," he said. "I thought we needed it. I was real proud of the guys, a number of positions had to step up, especially DB, D-line, wideout. But I thought we competed hard out there."

Quarterback Brock Purdy didn't play in last week's loss to the Broncos, and Shanahan hasn't made a decision yet on if starters will play Saturday.

"I'd like Brock to play but I haven't decided anything for sure yet. ... I planned on getting these starters going. There might be a couple guys I rest, but there's not a lot, especially on the defense, there's not a lot of healthy starters as it is."

As for if the Raiders' starters will play this week? Pete Carroll repeated what he said before the Seahawks game: "Everybody's live."
