100 Days of 100 Jersey Numbers - 76

For a total of 100 days, we'll take a look at the men who have played for the Raiders jersey number by jersey number. This series will highlight some of the greatest players in NFL history. In some cases, the player and jersey number are synonymous. In other cases, the jersey number represents sustained greatness at a particular position. Some players are superstitious about their jersey number. Whatever the case may be, jersey numbers are an important part of the fabric of professional football.

Steve Wisniewski played for the Raiders from 1989-2001.

Twelve players have worn jersey No. 76 in Raiders history, including a Hall of Fame offensive lineman and a dominant guard who is the uncle of a current Raiders player.

Garry Finneran – DT – 1961

Finneran joined the Raiders after a year with the Los Angeles Chargers. He played in 13 games for the Raiders in 1961.

Charles Brown – T – 1962

Brown played in 14 games for the Raiders in 1962.

Bob Svihus – T – 1965-70

The Raiders selected Svihus in the 3rd round of the 1965 AFL Draft out of USC. He played in 82 games with 70 starts. He went on to play three seasons for the New York Jets.

Bob Brown – T – 1971-73

"Boomer" joined the Raiders after five years with the Eagles and two with the Rams. He played in 34 games with 32 starts. Brown was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004. He was selected for six Pro Bowls (including one with the Raiders) and named 1st Team All-Pro five times during his career. Brown was named first or second team All-AFC or All-NFL by several publications during his first two years with the Raiders.

Mike McCoy – DT – 1977-78

McCoy joined the Raiders after seven years with the Green Bay Packers. He played in 29 games with three starts and recovered two fumbles.

Ed Muransky – G/T – 1982-84

The Raiders selected Muransky in the 4th round of the 1982 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He played in 24 games and was a member of the Raiders Super Bowl XVIII championship team.

Greg Boyd – DE – 1984

After two years with New England, three with Denver and one with Green Bay, Boyd split time between the 49ers and the Raiders in 1984. He played in five games for the Silver and Black.

Kevin Belcher – T – 1985

The Raiders selected Belcher in the 7th round of the 1985 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin. He played in four games in 1985 before going on to play for the Broncos in 1987.

Brian Holloway – G/T – 1987-88

Holloway joined the Raiders after six years with the New England Patriots. He played in 14 games with eight starts.

Steve Wisniewski – G – 1989-01

Wisniewski was originally selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2nd round of the 1989 NFL Draft and his rights were traded to the Raiders. He played in 206 games with 206 starts of a possible 208 regular season games. Wisniewski was selected to play in eight Pro Bowls, and was named 1st Team All-Pro twice.

Robert Gallery – G/T – 2004-10

The Raiders selected gallery in the 1st round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Iowa. He played in 92 games with 91 starts. He went on to play one year in Seattle.

Lucas Nix – G – 2012-2013

An undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh, Nix has played in 15 games with 10 starts for the Raiders.
