McGloin Voted Rookie of the Week

Raiders QB Matt McGloin was voted Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week for his performance against the Houston Texans in Week 11 action. McGloin, making his first NFL start, completed 18 passes for 187 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

The undrafted rookie free agent quarterback out of Penn State threw a 5-yard touchdown to WR Denarius Moore on his first pass of the game to put the Raiders up 7-0 at Reliant Stadium. Later in the 1st quarter, McGloin completed a 16-yard TD pass to WR Rod Streater to increase the Raiders lead to 14-0.

The Texans began to climb back into the game, but McGloin stayed poised and confident and launched a 26-yard throw to TE Mychal Rivera in the 3rd quarter for the go-ahead touchdown.

McGloin also completed deep balls to Streater (36 yards) and WR Andre Holmes (33 yards) during the game.

The Raiders won McGloin's first start 28-23 and the rookie received the team's game ball in the locker room postgame.

LB earned Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week honors for his effort during the Raiders 21-18 Week 8 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at O.co Coliseum in Oakland.
