The Oakland Raiders claimed second-year LB Jeremy Leman off of waivers from the San Diego Chargers. Leman played in three games last year with San Diego and spent five weeks on the practice squad.

The 6'2", 240-pound linebacker was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Illinois in 2008. He has spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, and the Philadelphia Eagles before joining the San Diego Chargers. He also played with the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League.

Leman was an NCAA consensus All-American in 2007 and named to the Big Ten's first team defense in both 2006 and 2007. Leman is currently sixth place on Illinois' all-time tackle list with 407.
