The Oakland Raiders have re-signed veteran offensive lineman Khalif Barnes.
Barnes, 29, started all 16 games at right tackle for the Silver and Black last season.
"Khalif has been a steady performer on the offensive line and we're glad that he is returning to the Raiders in 2012," said Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie.
Barnes was part of an offensive line that set a franchise record by allowing only 25 sacks last season. The unit also helped the Raiders rank seventh in the NFL in rushing with 131.9 yards per game.
He has seen action in 38 games with 21 starts in three years with the Raiders after playing four seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played in 16 games with three starts in 2010, recording his first career touchdown on a two-yard reception against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In seven professional seasons, Barnes has played in 98 games with 78 starts. He was selected by the Jaguars in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington.
