During the Oakland Raiders' 34-3 loss to the New York Jets Sunday, wide receiver Hunter Renfrow took a big hit, forcing him to seek the attention of the medical staff after struggling to get up.
Monday, the team got some bad news regarding the injury.
"We got some bad news," said Head Coach Jon Gruden during his Monday press conference. "We feel that Hunter Renfrow hurt his ribs. He's going to be out for a while. Big loss for our team."
Gruden continued, "I'm not going to get into the severity, because I really don't know. We're looking at his ribs, and as soon as I get the official, exact determination, I'll let you know."
With Renfrow down for the foreseeable future, the Silver and Black will once again have to tweak their offensive lineup, as the No. 149 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft played the majority of the reps as the team's slot receiver through the first 11 weeks.
But, without Renfrow in the mix, the Raiders have a plethora of players able to step in and take over this reps – both receivers and otherwise.
"We'll obviously have Keelan Doss, who has played in the slot a little bit this year," Gruden explained. "He's a good player. Darren Waller can play in the slot. [Derek] Carrier can play in the slot, and Zay Jones made a living in the slot at East Carolina, so we'll see who plug in there as we prepare for the chiefs. But it's a big, big loss for us. We've had a lot of turnover at that position this year. It's really too bad. I'll say this, Renfrow is going to be a great Raider. He's really been playing good for us."

Gruden didn't give an official timeline for Renfrow's return, but did allude there was a chance that his rookie campaign was over.
"Well, we'll see the severity of it," Gruden said when asked if there was concern about Renfrow losing the rest of the season. "We'll never put anybody at risk, but there is a possibility. We just have to make sure that he sees the people he needs to see, and we make the decision based on the medical exams. We're concerned, disappointed, we're going to miss him."
If the former Clemson Tiger's season is indeed over, 2019 proved to be a good first chapter in Renfrow's book as a Raider; he currently ranks third on the team with 396 receiving yards, and his 36 receptions rank second behind just Darren Waller.
