Previewing the Raiders' 2026 opponents

The Las Vegas Raiders can now go full steam ahead into the 2026 season with Klint Kubiak officially at the helm.

The Silver and Black will play eight home games and nine road games next season. Along with their six annual AFC West matchups, the Raiders will also face teams from the AFC East and NFC West as well as the fourth-place teams from the AFC South, AFC North and NFC South.

Here's a quick look at the Raiders' 2026 opponents.

Home opponents

  • Denver Broncos
  • Los Angeles Chargers
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Buffalo Bills
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Tennessee Titans

The Raiders will go through the gauntlet with their 2026 home schedule, with five of their opponents having made the playoffs in 2025. Calculating the records of the eight teams they'll face in Allegiant Stadium, they had a cumulative 58.09 percent win percentage last season.

Arguably their most intriguing home opponent in 2026 will be the Seattle Seahawks, for several reasons. First and foremost, they're the reigning Super Bowl champions after defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 last Sunday. Additionally, Raiders new Head Coach Klint Kubiak will go head-to-head against his former team, having won the Super Bowl as their offensive coordinator.

As Kubiak is tasked with upgrading the Silver and Black's offense, Mike Macdonald's defense will be a great test for the first-time head coach. The Seahawks defense allowed the fewest points (292) to opposing offenses, along with ranking in the top ten in takeaways (25) and fewest yards allowed (4,860).

"Mike [Macdonald] has been really supportive," said Klint Kubiak at his introductory press conference last Tuesday. "I can't thank him enough for really everything that he just showed me of how to be a head coach. Mike made my life really hard ... and I appreciate that. He challenged us every week as a coaching staff. I thought we had a good game, and on Monday I hated having to look at him in the eye because I knew all the hard questions were coming. But I really appreciated that about him, because he brought the best out of us."

Another two difficult home opponents will be the Los Angeles Rams and the Denver Broncos, who each lost their respective conference championship games by one possession.

Away Opponents

  • Denver Broncos
  • Los Angeles Chargers
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • New England Patriots
  • New York Jets
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Cleveland Browns
  • New Orleans Saints

Things don't get much easier on the road for the Raiders, with four of their opponents having made the playoffs in 2025.

There's a handful of rematches on the table for Las Vegas – having faced their AFC West opponents, the AFC Champion New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns in 2025. The Raiders pulled a win out of Gillette Stadium in the season opener, defeating the Patriots 20-13 before New England went on to win the AFC East and make it to the Super Bowl.

A big-time matchup on the schedule will be a trip back to The Bay to face their longtime rival San Francisco 49ers. Despite being plagued by injuries, the 49ers managed to win 12 games last season, ultimately being knocked out in the divisional round by Kubiak's Seahawks 41-6. It's also worth mentioning that the Raiders new head coach was their passing game coordinator during their 2023 Super Bowl run, and his brother Klay is currently their offensive coordinator.

Like the Raiders, two of these opponents are also going into 2026 with a new head coach. The Arizona Cardinals hired Mike LaFleur, who's most recently served as offensive coordinator for the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams. In 2025, his Rams offense ranked first in the league in total yardage (6,709) and points scored (518), with quarterback Matthew Stafford winning AP NFL Most Valuable Player.

The Cleveland Browns hired Todd Monken, the former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator. In three seasons under Monken, the Ravens ranked in the top 12 of points scored and yardage with quarterback Lamar Jackson with NFL MVP in 2023.

A look around the division

The Raiders went 1-5 against their AFC West opponents, with all four teams dealing with change heading into the next season.

Obviously no team in the division is going under more reconstruction with the Raiders as they prepare to turn around most of their coaching staff and roster. However, the Broncos, Chiefs and Chargers will all be going into 2026 with new offensive coordinators.

Denver promoted offensive pass game coordinator & quarterbacks coach Davis Webb after relieving Joe Lombardi of his duties. Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel will be the Chargers offensive coordinator after the team relieved Greg Roman. And lastly, Eric Bieniemy returns to Kansas City after winning two Super Bowls as their offensive coordinator in the 2019 and 2022 seasons.

It's also unknown whether Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will return in enough time to face the Raiders this season, tearing his ACL in Week 15 last season.
