The Silver and Black added to the linebacking corps with Quay Walker, signing the free agent Thursday morning.
Learn more about what Walker brings to the Raiders roster.
Surefire tackler
The Green Bay Packers selected Walker with the No. 22 pick in 2022 NFL Draft – ironically a pick the team acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders for Davante Adams.
In each of Walker's four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he led the team in total tackles, racking up 469 total tackles along with 29 tackles for loss and nine sacks in his career. His surefire tackling seems to be his superpower, with an impressive 3.8 missed tackle percentage in 2025. He is one of three NFL players since 2000 to record at least 100 tackles and 1.5 sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons.
While coverage hasn't been considered his strong suit, he still has 17 career pass deflections, five of those in 2025.
Gifted athlete
While attending Crisp County High School in Georgia, Walker was one of his team's top receivers before switching to outside linebacker and became the No. 2 ranked OLB nationally by ESPN.com and No. 6 overall prospect in the state.
Before taking over the football field, he was a captain of their basketball team. He helped lead the Cougars to a regional title in 2017.
Another dog on defense
Walker was part of a Georgia defense that ranked No. 1 in the country in points allowed (10.2 ppg), the top mark posted since Alabama (8.2 ppg) in 2011. He also helped the Bulldogs rank No. 2 in the nation in both overall defense (268.9 ypg) and run defense (78.9 ypg) in 2021.
In his collegiate career, he appeared in 52 games (17 starts) and posted 139 tackles (81 solo), five sacks, 11 tackles for a loss, 42 QB pressures, three passes defensed and a fumble recovery.
There are now four former Georgia players on the Raiders roster as Walker joins new free agent LB Nakobe Dean, TE Brock Bowers and CB Eric Stokes.
