Klint Kubiak embracing opportunity 'to earn the right to coach' Las Vegas Raiders

Pressure is a privilege for Klint Kubiak.

And make no doubt about it, there's a lot of pressure on him as the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

He's two days removed from the dust settling and confetti clearing out of Levi's Stadium, winning Super LX as the offensive coordinator with the Seattle Seahawks. He boarded a flight from San Francisco to Las Vegas Monday, and hopping on another plane back to Seattle for their championship parade Wednesday. In his lone season with the Seahawks, they went 14-3 with a top ten ranked offense in the league. To put an exclamation point on their regular season, they averaged nearly 34 points in their three-game playoff stretch with a commanding showing against the New England Patriots last Sunday.

To up the ante, Kubiak rolled into Raiders headquarters for his introductory press conference Tuesday morning with the franchise's three Super Bowl trophies placed directly in front of him as he took centerstage on the podium. He and General Manager John Spytek were surrounded by "The Avengers" of Silver and Black folklore – consisting of Hall of Famers Howie Long, Charles Woodson, Marcus Allen and Mike Haynes, not to mention 2002 NFL MVP Rich Gannon and Super Bowl XV MVP Jim Plunkett.

Looking out upon a jam-packed team room filled with Raiders players, staff and owner Mark Davis – Kubiak wouldn't have it any other way.

"It's not daunting at all. It's a blessing," Klint Kubiak said without hesitation. "That's what you want to be. That's what I want our players to want to achieve. I want them to see these guys, be surrounded by these guys, because that's what their goals should be, win Super Bowls. The MVPs and Hall of Fame, that takes care of itself when the team wins. So, that's what we're going to be about, winning."

Along with the pressure that comes based off his track record and the pomp and circumstances of his arrival, all eyes will be placed upon him to turn the Raiders around.

Kubiak is inheriting a team that went 3-14 in 2025 with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. The 38-year-old offensive wiz kid is going from a Seahawks unit that was topped the league in point differential to a Raiders offense that was ranked last in points scored and yardage.

He'll also be the sixth head coach of the team since 2020, prompting the front office to conduct a thorough interview process to ensure they bring in the right fit for them.

"Bunch of great humans, a bunch of great coaches, but ultimately that led us to coach Klint Kubiak to be the next leader," John Spytek said Tuesday. "We had to be patient. We had to let him go win a Super Bowl, which we were more than willing to do. So, we're super proud of him for accomplishing that, and he stood out with his leadership, with his humility, with his work ethic, with his intelligence. We called many people around the league and got glowing reviews on him too. So, it made it a difficult but easy decision for us, and I'm really proud to welcome him to Raider Nation as a partner."

Despite the hills Kubiak will soon start climbing, he's confident the Raiders are also the right fit for him and his family. Heading to his sixth team in six seasons, he's bringing an head down approach to the way he'll lead his new team.

"[T]here's just a lot to love about this organization," said Kubiak. "You look around this building and the resources that we have, our meal room, the weight room, the fields outside, the coaches offices, it's as good as it gets in the NFL. Been in a lot of buildings for good reasons and bad reasons, been hired and fired, and the resources are here. We've just got to go put it all together.

"In this league, if you don't take care of business, then you get chewed up and spit out real quick," he added. "And every one of us up here has been through that. So, I'm going to have to earn the right to coach this whole season, to coach the next season. I have got to show Mr. Davis that our program is about the right things and that we're developing these players. So, I don't take for granted how long I'm going to be here. I know that I have to earn it every day."
