Raiders set to become first NFL team to play in three countries in one season

The 2019 Oakland Raiders made a little bit of history Wednesday, more than two months before they're scheduled to hit the field for their first preseason game of the year.

The Silver and Black announced today – in association with On Ice Entertainment Ltd. – they would host the Green Bay Packers in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on August 22, making the team's preseason Week 3 game the organization's first played north of the border.

With a trip to England also on the books in October, the Raiders will also become the first team in NFL history to play in three different countries in one season.

The August 22 game at IG Field will be the Raiders ninth international game, with the Week 5 tilt against the Chicago Bears serving as the 10th.

The Silver and Black will no doubt get their fair share of travel in over the coming months; with three preseason games, along with the aforementioned trip to London, Head Coach Jon Gruden's team will play 12 of their 20 matchups this year outside the Bay Area.

Road warriors, indeed.
