Eight Things You Didn't Know About D-Line Coach Jethro Franklin

1. Defensive line coach Jethro Franklin was born in St. Lazaire, France, where his father was stationed in the military.

2. Coach Franklin grew up just down the street in San Jose, Calif.

3. Former Raiders defensive line coach Mike Waufle was Coach Franklin's defensive line coach at Fresno State.

4. Two-time All-American selection as defensive lineman at Fresno State.

5. No. 1 overall draft choice of the San Antonio Riders of the World League of American Football in 1991 before opting to begin his coaching career instead.

6. Coached the defensive line at USC at the same time that Coach Ken Norton Jr. worked there in 2005. He also coached the Packers' defensive line from 2000 to 2004, while Reggie McKenzie was an executive with the team. 

7. Coach Franklin and former Raiders running backs coach Kelly Skipper were the two coaches who recruited former Raiders linebacker Sam Williams to Fresno State.

8. Coach Franklin enjoys golfing but admits he's not very good at it.
