Tyler Linderbaum confessed he isn't too active on social media. So funny enough, he's yet to see the excitement from Raider Nation surrounding his signing.
But even without seeing comments and reactions on the internet, he feels the magnitude of arriving to the Silver and Black.
The three-time Pro Bowler is joining an offense in dire need of a fresh coat of paint after finishing last in the league in points scored and yardage in 2025, not to mention they allowed the most sacks to opposing defenses. The former Baltimore Ravens center was a perfect example of team need matching best player available in free agency.
"I think going through the process, just trying to find a team that's suitable to my skill sets," Linderbaum told local media Thursday morning.
He sat alongside new teammates Jalen Nailor, Kwity Paye and Quay Walker in their introductory press conference.
"Coach Kubiak – I'm excited what he's going to build here, something that I think will fit my play, and obviously, just the whole organization in itself I think is headed in the right direction," Linderbaum said, "and something that I want to be a part of and build this program into a championship level team."
An emphasis will also be placed on establishing the ground game with Linderbaum at center. In his four seasons as a Raven, Baltimore finished with a top two ranked rushing offense in the NFL. He's also coming off a 2025 season in which he received an 83.7 run blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, the fourth-highest of any center in the league.
The Raiders invested heavily in the run game a year ago, taking Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick. He delivered on his end, leading all rookies with 975 rushing yards in 2025. But his individual production masked a larger problem: Las Vegas still finished last in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Also per Next Gen Stats, 88.5 percent of Jeanty's rushing yards were after contact.
"I think as an offensive lineman, that's got to be your bread and butter – being able to run the football," Linderbaum said. "It helps things set up for different things, for success. And the O-line play, it's a mindset. It's having the right attitude of determination of what we're trying to do to the defense, and it takes all five guys being on the same page."
Obtaining Linderbaum wasn't an easy feat either. Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta stated Wednesday that the organization tried putting together a comparable offer to extend him. Ultimately, they were outmatched by John Spytek and the Raiders.
And while the center is grateful for his time with his former team, he has his eyes set learning how Kubiak schemes things up for the likes of Jeanty and All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers. He also walks into a situation where Las Vegas possesses the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft – who many predict could be Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
"Very thankful for the four years I had with them developing me as a player," he said. "But excited for the new challenge on what's ahead. I think all the guys up here and all the guys coming in, we're going to take on a new role, leadership role of trying to get the team in the best position possible moving forward. So, excited for the next challenge, and I know all of us are ready to get to work."
"It's cool to put myself in that position to be wanted," he added, "but at the end of day, I had to do my research on where I think was the best fit for me, and I'm excited to be here."
