Quick Hits: Pete Carroll discusses outlook for the Raiders' remaining games

After being shut out 31-0 on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Las Vegas Raiders have fallen to 2-12 with three games left in the season.

"We're all frustrated," Pete Carroll said Monday morning. "I mean, we hate what's going on, and there isn't anybody in here that doesn't want to do something better than we're showing right now. And nobody's feeling that more than I am. But sometimes you feel like you're the only one feeling it, so we'll try to get through that together. It just hasn't worked out the way we anticipated."

Read through for the rest of what Carroll told local media Monday.

On his goals for team heading into last three games:

'We need to show improvement. We need to get better. We need to move the football better and get in the red zone and get some points on the frickin' board, man. We've got to score, and then when we get our chances, we've got to back it up with what we're doing on the other side. And so, we just need to feel like we're improving, and this game was so slanted in their direction, that it just didn't feel like that at all."

An injury update on Geno Smith:

"As far as I know, he's got a chance to [play Week 16]. Yeah, at this point. We don't have all the info yet. We'll know more Wednesday."

On a potential rebuild:

"It's looking like that's what's necessary. We need to keep working to get better, and that's in all areas, all aspects of what we're doing. I came in here thinking that we were going to turn it right away. I really did and anticipated doing that, and that's not what's taking place unfortunately."

On rookie tackle Charles Grant:

"I did like his aggressiveness. I thought he looked tough, and he finished well too, kept his feet moving and drove a guy off the football a couple times. It looked pretty good. Made a couple mistakes and all, but we would like to see how we could find a way to use him."

On Malcolm Koonce seeing more reps on special teams:

"We need him on special teams. We're always searching for guys to take some reps off other guys and help us out there. He's got some background. Been on the punt team for a number of years. There was a whole lot of heavy personnels in this game. They weren't wide open with their three receiver sets nearly as much because they could run the football because we were behind. And so, it takes away some snaps. It's happened for a couple weeks recently."

On trying to find joy within the season:

"To me, every day is a huge opportunity for us to do something to get us closer to what we want, and I've got a format for how we approach the week and all to get us on track with that. And I don't think that we can benefit the most out of our work that we do in this unless we're on the top end of this thing, and we're looking forward, forward thinking and pushing to make improvements and to get better and to feel that, not necessarily only with yourself, but with the people around you. And so, yeah, that's what I'm shooting for on a regular basis."
