Fast Facts About Austin Howard

Austin attended Northern Iowa University, where he majored in criminology, but went undrafted in 2010 before being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles.

During his time at Northern Iowa, Howard was also a member of the basketball team, appearing in five games.

In 2012, he earned the Kyle Clifton Good Guy Award, which recognizes exceptionally consistent willingness, cooperation and professionalism in daily interaction with the various departments in the Jets organization.

Howard is the youngest of five children, and his oldest brother Marcel briefly played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions.

The offensive lineman also plays the cello, which was passed down from his siblings.
