First Half Highlights Against The Chiefs

The Raiders won the coin toss and deferred to the second half, and after the Chiefs couldn't convert a 3rd & long, they punted the ball back to Oakland.

Derek Carr and the offense took over at their own 13-yard line, and on 3rd and 1 Latavius Murray ran straight through the middle of the Chiefs defense to earn the Raiders a new set of downs.

Facing a 3rd & 2 near midfield, Alex Smith handed the ball off to Jamaal Charles, but Antonio Smith and Justin Tuck met the running back in the backfield for a loss of three to force a Kansas City punt.

On 2nd & 8, Carr had time in the pocket and found Mychal Rivera on the sideline for a gain of seven.

On the next play, Carr bootlegged to his right and once again connected with Rivera, this time for a gain of five to earn a new set of downs.

With just over 2:00 left in the first quarter, Latavius Murray went over the right side of the Chiefs defense and scampered through the open field for a gain of 25.

The Chiefs drove down the field but Justin Tuck forced Alex Smith out of bounds before he was able to convert a 3rd & 6, and the Chiefs had to attempt a field goal that Cairo Santos pushed wide left.

With 11:41 left in the half, Carr connected with James Jones on the sideline for a gain of seven.

The Chiefs drive stalled and the Raiders forced Kansas City into another field goal attempt, but this time the attempt was good, putting the Raiders in 10-0 hole with 8:01 left in the first half.

Smith handed the ball off to Knile Davis, but Khalil Mack met him in the backfield immediately for a loss of two on the play.

On the next play, Brandian Ross took down Jamaal Charles before the first down marker to force a Kansas City punt.

Carr and the Raiders offense took over deep in their own territory, but on first down the rookie threw to Andre Holmes who hauled in the pass for a gain of nine.

With just under 2:00 left in the second quarter Carr orchestrated a drive into Chiefs territory, and as time expired in the first half, Sebastian Janikowski knocked in a 53-yard field goal to give the Raiders their first points of the afternoon.
