Wide receiver Rod Streater participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walnut Creek 5K Fundraising Walk. Streater and over 30 members of "Team Streater" raised money and walked in support of the American Cancer Society.

This cause has significant meaning for Streater, who lost his mother to breast cancer during the 2014 season.

After she passed, Streater shared this on Instagram:

"I thank God for the amazing mother he blessed me with. I thought the world was over when I broke my foot but later realized it was a blessing. It allowed me to spend the last days of my mother's life right beside her. Breast cancer may have taken her life, but it will not take away the love she gave, amazing memories, joy, and impact she had on my family's lives. I wouldn't be anything if it wasn't for my mom. I'll be strong and promise to live my life in a way that will make you smile. I will never meet someone as amazing as you. Your pain is gone. You whooped cancer! You're in peace in Heaven. You're my angel. I love you mom. RIP."* *

Last season, Streater spent time with breast cancer survivors during a special event at the Raiders facility, as well as participated in the St. Baldrick's Foundation event, raising money for childhood cancer research.
