What They're Saying: Broncos plot to contain 'phenom' Maxx Crosby

Take a look at what Broncos players and coaches had to say ahead of Thursday's matchup.

On DE Maxx Crosby:

"He is a phenom. Obviously he has a ton of ability. He's so disruptive, but it's the motor that really stands out, like you said. Just every single play, it's all out. You can't help but just get distracted by him every play. You just watch, and there he is again, causing disruption. Just tough, great stamina, and just a motor that every single play is a hundred percent. There are a lot of guys that are dangerous, and sometimes they might pick and choose their spots, and he picks every single spot. It's a problem. He eliminates a lot of things you want to do because of how disruptive he is. Not a guy I wish we had to see twice a year for sure." – Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi

On Head Coach Pete Carroll:

"Pete does a great job. He's always been, I consider, a good friend in the industry. Someone who you know you're going to get a real well-coached team." – Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton

On TE Brock Bowers:

"He is special. Obviously last year, the first game we played him, he kind of hurt us a little bit on a couple of big plays. The second time we played against him, we put Patrick [Surtain II] on him. I mean, he's that kind of a player. Watching this year, his healthiest and best game was last week, unfortunately for us. He had a big game again. He has the size and the speed of an NFL receiver but the size of a tight end. So the toughest job with him is getting him tackled. You can kind of cover him with a safety or a defensive back body, but can you get him on the ground after he catches the ball? He made four or five big plays last week, with just catching a 10-yard spot route and the YAC after is major. Having a great plan to kind of get him rerouted early and just keep the coverage top down on him is going to be important to win the game." – Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph

On AFC West rivalry games:

"These are the ones that have the most weight to them. These are the ones that you have to go in there and win to set yourself up for the playoffs. As a team, these are the most important for us. Then obviously, this organization, city and fans have been playing these teams for a long time. A lot of rivalries. These are the fun ones. It's like playing a conference game in college. These are the ones you look forward to. ... It will be a fun Thursday Night Football environment." – Broncos quarterback Bo Nix
