La semana de descanso le dio un aire fresco a los Raiders, quienes llegaron a su duelo contra los Jaguares con todos los jugadores en su plantilla activa disponibles para ver acción. Sin embargo, la esperanza de la victoria se desvaneció en la última jugada del periodo adicional, cuando Las Vegas no logró concretar una conversión de dos puntos, cayendo 30-29 en un duelo que tuvo de todo.
El regreso más esperado fue el de Brock Bowers, quien se perdió los últimos tres partidos. Su impacto fue inmediato y transformador: atrapó 12 pases para 127 yardas y tres anotaciones, revitalizando la ofensiva y demostrando por qué es una pieza clave para el equipo.
"¿Puede ser más obvio lo gran jugador que es?", dijo Pete Carroll al elogiar el desempeño de su ala cerrada estrella. "Tuvimos la manera de ponerle el balón en sus manos. Chip (Kelly) lo dejó abierto, Geno (Smith) conectó con él. La eficiencia fue excelente y las yardas tras la recepción fueron magníficas. Su capacidad de crear jugadas fue sobresaliente".
En su campaña de novato, Bowers participó en cada partido. Pero sufrió una lesión de rodilla en la primera mitad de la victoria como visitantes frente a los Patriotas en la semana uno del 2025, a pesar de ello jugó los siguientes tres duelos. Llegó un momento donde se tomó la decisión de darle descanso para que se pudiera recuperar y estar al 100% cuando volviera al emparrillado.
"Mentalmente, es difícil no jugar solo porque quieres estar en el campo, es muy frustrante no poder ayudar al equipo", aseguró Bowers al reflexionar sobre su regreso. "Fue increíble volver a salir al campo. Obviamente, no fue el final que queríamos, pero estoy orgulloso de que todos lucharon hasta el final."
Geno Smith se vio beneficiado al tener de nuevo a Bowers completamente sano, esto al vivir su mejor actuación desde la apertura de temporada, completando 29 pases para 284 yardas y una marca personal con los Raiders de 4 touchdowns.
"Hoy siento que jugamos un partido decente", aseguró Smith sobre la actuación del equipo. "Creo que nos dimos la oportunidad de ganar. Si hacemos una o dos jugadas aquí y allá, el juego sería diferente, y tal vez ni siquiera iríamos a tiempo extra. Pero es un paso adelante respecto a lo que hicimos la semana pasada. Aun así, no es suficiente. Ni cerca de suficiente."
A pesar del brillo ofensivo, la defensa de los Raiders no pudo frenar a Jacksonville en la segunda mitad. Los Jaguares anotaron puntos en las últimas seis posesiones que tuvieron, incluyendo un gol de campo récord de 68 yardas de Cam Little en la última jugada del segundo cuarto. "Fue un juego muy positivo de muchas maneras, y hubiéramos ganado el partido sin tiempo en el reloj (tras la conversión de dos puntos)", mencionó Carroll sobre la derrota sufrida. "Lamentablemente, no pudimos detenerlos en la segunda mitad. Nuestros números en la primera mitad fueron excelentes. Hay muchas cosas positivas. Jugamos bien. Hicimos muchas cosas buenas hoy. Nuestra determinación de seguir luchando y regresar, y de trabajar para terminar series clave tres o cuatro veces, especialmente en retornos de equipos especiales. Los retornos de Raheem (Mostert) fueron excelentes y nos pusieron en posición de anotar desde ahí."
