Los Raiders vivieron una tarde complicada más al ser blanqueados 31-0 en Filadelfia por las Águilas, en un partido donde el marcador reflejó el dominio del equipo local y las dificultades que sigue enfrentando Las Vegas en ambos lados del balón.
El encuentro marcó el primer partido como mariscal de campo titular de Kenny Pickett con los Raiders, pero la ofensiva nunca logró establecer ritmo ni generar jugadas grandes. Las Vegas terminó con apenas 75 yardas totales, la segunda cifra más baja en un juego en la historia de la franquicia. Pickett completó 15 de sus pases para 64 yardas, lanzó una intercepción y fue capturado en cuatro ocasiones.
"Nos faltaron jugadas explosivas", dijo Pickett tras el partido después de que la jugada más grande del partido para los Malosos fue de solo 11 yardas, siendo autocrítico sobre lo ocurrido. "No pudimos mantenernos en el campo, no ayudamos a nuestra defensiva y no anotamos puntos. Realmente fue todo eso. Tenemos que mejorar en todas las áreas".
Sin un ataque terrestre que equilibrara la ofensiva, las Águilas pudieron anticipar situaciones y controlar el desarrollo del partido. Por noveno partido consecutivo, la ofensiva de los Malosos no pudo llegar a 75 tardas por medio de acarreos, al ser limitados a solo 46 yardas, de las cuales 35 fueron para el novato Ashton Jeanty.
"Tenemos que mezclar un poco más las cosas en el juego terrestre", agregó Pickett. "No podemos permitir que se adelanten a nuestras tendencias. Sentí que en ciertas jugadas ellos fueron más rápidos que nosotros y tenemos que revisar eso".
Filadelfia controló el ovoide durante 39 minutos y 25 segundos, manteniendo a la defensiva de los Raiders constantemente en el campo. Este marcó el segundo partido seguido donde los oponentes de Las Vegas tuvieron el balon más de 39 minutos y el tercero seguido donde la defensa negro y plata tuvo que estar sobre el emparrillado al menos 35 minutos.
"No sentí que hubiera un punto de quiebre, creo que simplemente nos superaron", fue como el entrenador en jefe Pete Carroll reconoció la superioridad del rival en turno. "Es un equipo muy cargado de talento y hoy hicieron lo que quisieron en ambos lados del balón. No pudimos detener su ofensiva ni salir del campo".
A pesar de la carga, Maxx Crosby volvió a ser uno de los puntos más altos del equipo. El ala defensiva registró la única captura de los Raiders en el partido, su décima de la temporada, alcanzando por cuarto año en su carrera capturas de mariscal de campo en los dobles dígitos.
Con esta derrota, los Raiders suman ocho caídas consecutivas y colocan su récord en 2 ganados y 12 perdidos, con tres partidos restantes en la temporada regular. Los Malosos ahora se preparan para su último juego como visitantes en Houston, ante unos Texans que atraviesan el mejor momento de su temporada.
