The Oakland Raiders High School "Coach of the Week" program, presented by the California National Guard, promotes high school football, giving high school coaches and teams the recognition that they deserve.

Designed to honor coaches who have created successful programs for teams and players, both on and off of the playing field, the "Coach of the Week" program provides teams with financial assistance to maintain their football programs.  During each week of the high school season, the Oakland Raiders will select one high school coach as the "Coach of the Week" winner.

Each recipient will be awarded a $2,000 donation to the school's football program from The Oakland Raiders, the NFL Foundation and California National Guard, a certificate signed by The Oakland Raiders Head Coach Dennis Allen, and an Oakland Raiders "Coach of the Week" cap.

Rodney Parker, from Emery High School, was named The Oakland Raiders High School "Coach of the Year" for 2013.  Coach Parker and his team faced challenges that most teams take for granted.  They practice on a field that is roughly 20 yards by 40 yards long, do not have a weight room, possess 28 uniforms for 32 players, and have a total student population of 216 kids in the high school.  Rodney and his staff has made the most of what they have, instilled a no excuses mentality within their team and had a very successful season finishing with a 7-4 record. Congratulations Coach Parker!
