Raiders sign defensive tackle Anthony Rush

NAPA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent DT Anthony Rush, the club announced Thursday.

Rush, a 6-foot-5, 350-pound defensive tackle, enters his first season in the NFL after spending the last two seasons (2017-18) of his collegiate career at UAB. In 25 games with the program, Rush posted 77 tackles (43 solo), including 20 for loss, two sacks, one interception returned for a touchdown, one pass defensed and two forced fumbles. As a senior in 2018, he set career marks in tackles (43), tackles for loss (11), sacks (two) and forced fumbles (two).

Rush spent two years (2015-16) at Northeast Mississippi Community College before transferring to UAB, recording 73 tackles and four sacks over his time with the school. The Raleigh, N.C. native was a three-star prospect during his prep with Cary (N.C.) High School and was considered a top-20 player in the state after earning first-team All-Southwest Wake Athletic Conference honors as a senior.
