3 players to watch in 2026 Senior Bowl

The 2026 Panini Senior Bow week is underway.

Raiders scouts have been down in Mobile, Alabama, to evaluate some of the more prominent players in college football. Two days of competitive practices have concluded and the annual collegiate showcase is set to be played Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11:30 a.m. PT. The game will be streamed on NFL+ and air on NFL Network.

Before the game gets going, here are three players to watch who could find themselves on the Raiders' draft board.

Gennings Dunker, Iowa, OT

With his incredible mullet and physical play style, Dunker has taken Mobile by storm this week.

The Iowa offensive tackle has reportedly won most of his matchups throughout two days of practice in team period and one-on-ones. Dunker is one of the more notable offensive linemen at Senior Bowl, as he was named First-Team All-Big Ten and was a part of an Iowa offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award – given annually to the best college football offensive line unit.

Measuring in at 6-foot-5, 320 pounds, Dunker has said that he's open to moving inside to guard or center at the next level, a place he could excel given his frame.

"Everyone here is a great player and everyone really respects each other," Dunker said on NFL Network. "And it's great to compete against guys that are this talented. I mean these D-ends are fast now. ... These guys are quick, so you got to be ready to rock and roll."

Jacob Rodriguez, Texas Tech, LB

Rodriguez has been using this week to put an exclamation point on a stellar season, and make an argument for being the best off-ball linebacker in the draft class.

According to media in Alabama, the Texas Tech linebacker has had a sensational two days of practice, with a forced fumble and an interception on Day 2 during team period.

The unanimous All-American played a huge role in ensuring Texas Tech won its first conference championship since 1994, recording 128 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six pass deflections and a nation-leading seven forced fumbles. It was a clean sweep for Rodriguez during award season, taking home the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Butkus Award, Lombardi Award, Chuck Bednarik Award and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. While Ohio State's Arvell Reese is widely regarded as the top linebacker in this year's draft class, a exceptional Senior Bowl showing from Rodriguez could add intrigue, and even solidify him as a late first-round, early second-round pick in April.

Ted Hurst, Georgia State, WR

Something that makes the Senior Bowl special is the opportunity for a few smaller school prospects to showcase their skills against top competition.

One of those players is wide receiver Ted Hurst.

Hurst already passes the eye test with his physical traits, coming into the Senior Bowl hovering around 6-foot-3 and 207 pounds. However, the receiver remains an under-the-radar prospect. He originally started his collegiate career at Division II Valdosta State and after transferring to Georgia State in his junior season, he racked up nearly 2,000 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns as an upperclassman. He was named First-Team All-Sun Belt his senior season.

With a slight chip on his shoulder, he's shown incredible catch radius, not afraid to use his frame to snag passes away from smaller defenders.

"I'm a valuable asset," Hurst said when asked what he wants NFL teams to take away from this week. "Some guys, they're looking to play from the beginning. But just coming from a smaller school, being able to come out here and compete, I want to show teams I'm an all-around player whether that's you bringing me in on special teams or you bringing me in to make plays."

It's worth noting that a good performance from Hurst in Saturday's game could put him on the radar for Las Vegas, considering the team drafted receiver Jack Bech, who was the Senior Bowl Offensive MVP in 2025, with the second-round pick.

The Las Vegas Raiders partnered with Allegiant to visit Bonanza High School as they hosted Amplus Academy.
