Edwin Dizon from California asks:
"Shouldn't we take the best QB in the draft, Fernando Mendoza?"
With the season he's had, all expectations point to him being the top quarterback available in the 2026 NFL Draft once he officially declares, especially considering Oregon quarterback Dante Moore made the shocking decision to stay in college for another year
After transferring from California, he's led the Hoosiers to their best season in program history – winning their first conference championship in nearly 60 years and going into their national title game with a perfect 15-0 record. Mendoza led the nation in passing touchdowns (41) while completing 73 percent of his passes for 3,349 yards, and became the school's first Heisman Trophy winner.
Also, just throwing this out there, the Raiders have drafted three Heisman Trophy winners – all of whom were inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Mendoza's playoff run has been nothing short of incredible, with more touchdown passes (eight) than pass incompletions (five) in his two blowout wins over Alabama and Oregon. Considering the Raiders just endured a dramatically lackluster offensive season, finishing last in total yardage and points scored, drafting Mendoza to be their franchise signal-caller would be a reasonable decision.
Kyle B. from New Jersey asks:
"What are the odds the Raiders pass on the top QBs to beef up the O-line?"
In a perfect world, the Raiders beef up their offensive line without sacrificing the chance to draft a top quarterback.
With the Raiders estimated to be one of the teams with the most cap space in 2026, this gives them the opportunity to go after a few veteran offensive linemen that can make an immediate impact. I'd consider it a top priority as Geno Smith was sacked a league-high 55 times in 2025.
It can be assumed the Raiders will also look for more depth in the upcoming draft, but pairing valuable free agents with the likes of Kolton Miller, Jackson Powers-Johnson and Caleb Rogers could prove beneficial. That way, whoever the starting quarterback is in 2026 – whether it be the No. 1 pick, Smith or someone else – will be placed in a far more advantageous situation.
Bill Althouse from Pennsylvania said:
"I believe we need an offense minded HC if that's possible."
While still early in their head coach search, the Las Vegas Raiders have conducted interviews with four different coaches with offensive backgrounds.
Two of those candidates are currently in the same division as the Silver and Black: Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and Denver Broncos offensive pass game coordinator/quarterbacks coach Davis Webb. Nagy, who was named AP NFL Coach of the Year in his first year as a head coach, has been the Chiefs offensive coordinator for four years with two Super Bowl berths in that span.
Webb, who was an NFL quarterback just three years ago, has helped ease Bo Nix into the league as the Broncos won their first division title in 10 years and secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Kevin Stefanski is another Coach of the Year recipient who has interviewed for the Raiders head coaching job. After being the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator for two seasons, he was named the Cleveland Browns head coach in 2020. In his tenure, the team won 45 games with two playoff berths. He also helped the franchise win its first playoff game in 26 years back in his first season.
Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is the fourth offensive minded coach to interview. Klint, the son of Super Bowl winning head coach Gary Kubiak, has guided an offensive unit that's top 10 in points scored and total yardage this season to an NFC West title and the first seed in their conference. Kubiak has also served as an offensive coordinator or passing game coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings.
With free agency set to begin on March 11th, take a look at the Raiders officially slated to become free agents.
