Los Oakland Raiders tuvieron oportunidades en contra de los Packers pero no las pudieron aprovechar. De inicio a fin fue un partido ofensivo ante el duelo que propiciaron entre si Derek Carr y Aaron Rodgers. Desafortunadamente los Packers ganaron el partido, 24-42, pero a pesar de eso una de las cosas positivas fue el regreso del guardia derecho, Gabe Jackson.
Jackson habĂa estado lesionado desde la pretemporada y el domingo participĂł en su primer partido del 2019. En conjunto con Rodney Hudson dominaron la lĂnea de golpeo y le dieron suficiente tiempo a Carr para operar desde la bolsa de protecciĂłn al igual que abrir carriles para por donde correr el novato Josh Jacobs. Carr no fue capturado en todo el partido y se lo agradeciĂł a toda la lĂnea ofensiva despuĂ©s del partido.
"Estuvo excelente," dijo Carr sobre el regreso de Jackson. "Un reconocimiento a nuestra linea ofensiva. Cuando se lesionĂł Trent Brown, David Sharpe, quien ha tenido tanto Buenos como tan Buenos juegos en su Carrera, lo susutituyĂł dando su mejor esfuerzo y tratando de mejorar y en el partido jugĂł bien. AsĂ que le doy el crĂ©dito a todos ellos. Tenerlos a todos de regreso y jugar de esa manera, creo que fue un trabajo sobresaliente. Creo que todos estarĂĄn de acuerdo, pero ellos estĂĄn haciendo un buen trabajo. El entrenador Tom Cable y el resto han estado haciendo una buena labor en prepararlos a todos por si acaso ya que no sabĂamos si Trent iba poder jugar. "Pero el hecho de que hayan jugado, tener a Gabe de vuelta y que hubiera esa continuidad⊠hubo algunas jugadas que se dieron solo por el hecho de que han jugado mucho tiempo juntos y cuando rompimos el pelotĂłn me mirĂł y pudimos ajustar la jugada y anotar antes de que se dieran cuenta de que habĂa sucedido. Solo conseguir esa continuidad de nuevo donde podamos ver las cosas como antes es bueno."
Antes del partido de la Semana 7, Jon Gruden insinuĂł durante varias semanas que Jackson regresarĂa pronto y lo hizo de buena manera. Gruden tambiĂ©n dijo que Jackson ha estado en su mejor condiciĂłn fĂsica durante su rehabilitaciĂłn pero que mencionĂł que todavĂa puede mejorar.
"TodavĂa puedo mejorar," dijo Jackson. "Sentirme mejor y retomar el ritmo. TomarĂĄ tiempo y solo me da gusto poder jugar."
A pesar de haber estado inactivo durante seis semanas, Jackson no mostró fallas de comunicación con sus compañeros ya que continuó revisando el libro de jugadas mientras se rehabilitaba
Jackson también pudo experimentar por primera ocasión como es abrir el paso para Josh Jacobs quien ya lo tiene impresionado desde la banca, pero ahora lo pudo ver de cerca.
"Es imponente," dijo sonriente. "Recuerdo su primer acareo largo del partido. Estaba boqueando y me caĂ, levantĂ© la mirada y seguĂa corriendo. Tiene velocidad y es buen corredor." Esperemos que cuando Trent Brown regrese y la lĂnea ofensiva estĂ© completa por primera ocasiĂłn en la temporada, los Raiders puedan abrir mas huecos para Jacobs y darle mayor tiempo y protecciĂłn a Carr para que pueda operar.
