With the Raiders' first preseason game just days away, Pete Carroll and staff are getting players ready for action with a mock game to simulate live situations.
The first-team offense is taking on the second-team defense, while the second-team offense faces the first-team defense.
Final: Raiders win!
With under 3 minutes of mock game play left, Geno Smith and the first-team came back in for a game-winning drive. Smith launched a deep throw to Phillip Dorsett, who came down with it in the end zone. Going for the two-point conversion, Smith ran it in to give the first-team the lead of 36-35.
Aidan O'Connell and squad responded by driving down to the field to notch a field goal that retook a 38-36 lead.
Cam Miller got in on the action in the final 20 seconds of the game driving the team downfield, but Carlson missed a final field goal after being perfect on the day.
"This is awesome. So glad so many of you were here to share this day with us," Head Coach Pete Carroll said while addressing fans at the end of the mock game. "It was a big day's work."
"It means everything having the fans, the Raider Nation, the Silver and Black here," Geno Smith said post-practice.
Cam Miller runs in another TD
For the second time in the mock game, rookie quarterback Cam Miller kept the ball and ran in a touchdown. His points evened the score in the fourth quarter to 28-28 with 4:06 left to play.
Zamir White hits the end zone
After halftime, Aidan O'Connell and the second-team offense were back on the field and completed the drive with Zamir White barreling into the end zone.
Rookie Dont'e Thornton scores touchdown
Geno Smith threw his third touchdown of the day, this time to rookie receiver Dont'e Thornton to end the half. Geno and the first-team lead 28-14.
Aidan O'Connell hits Phillip Dorsett for a touchdown
With less than 2 minutes remaining before halftime, Aidan O'Connell found Phillip Dorsett wide open in the end zone.
Maxx Crosby strip sacks Aidan O'Connell
With his motor always on, Maxx Crosby "strip sacked" Aidan O'Connell and ran it back for a touchdown. Now, since it's a mock game, Crosby could not actually sack O'Connell but nabbed the ball while O'Connell was about to throw.
Cam Miller takes it up the middle into end zone
From first-and-goal, rookie quarterback Cam Miller ran up the middle for the touchdown, bringing the score to 14-7, with the first-team offense still in the lead.
Another DIME to Bowers
After the first-team defense forced the second-team offense to punt, Geno Smith and Co. came back on the field for their second drive in the mock game, which again culminated in Smith hitting Brock Bowers for the touchdown.
