On the Clock: Things to know prior to the 2019 NFL Draft

It's finally Draft Week.

Thursday, the 2019 NFL Draft will commence, with the next wave of players set to begin their NFL journey.

The Oakland Raiders will host media members at the team's training facility in Alameda, Calif., for the 84th National Football League Draft from April 25-27 (Thursday through Saturday). There will be 254 selections, including 32 compensatory choices that have been awarded to 18 clubs.

The draft will be held in Nashville, Tenn., located on First and Broadway and is free and open to the public. The 2019 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday in primetime, the 10th consecutive year that it will kick off in an evening time slot. The first round will take place on Thursday, April 25, beginning at 5 p.m. PT. The second and third rounds will take place on Friday, April 26, and begin at 4 p.m. PT. The draft will conclude on Saturday, April 27, with the final four rounds, commencing at 9 a.m. PT.

Teams have 10 minutes to select a player in the first round and seven minutes in the second round. Selection time for rounds three through six, including compensatory selection choices will be five minutes. The selection time for round seven and round-seven compensatory selections is four minutes.

General Manager Mike Mayock enters his first draft in his role after joining the club on Dec. 31, 2018, and does so with plenty of ammunition in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Raiders have four picks in the first 35 draft slots in the upcoming draft, with three of them coming in the first round:

-No. 4

-No. 24

-No. 27

In fact, dating back to 2000, only the New York Jets have had more picks in the first round heading into the draft, with four in 2000. The 2017 Cleveland Browns, 2013 Minnesota Vikings and 2001 St. Louis Rams also had three first-round selections. It is just the second time in franchise history that the club will enter the draft with three first-round selections. The only other occurrence was in 1988, when the team selected Hall of Fame WR Tim Brown with the sixth pick, Pro Bowl DB Terry McDaniel with the ninth pick and DT Scott Davis with the 25th overall selection, who recorded at least 5.5 sacks in each of his four seasons with the Silver and Black.

Here's every player ever selected by the Raiders with the No. 4 overall pick:
