CAREER NOTES

Bergstrom started his final 38 games for Utah at right offensive tackle, adding another starting assignment on the left side as a freshman…Saw action in a total 48 games, as he finished with an overall blocking consistency grade of 83%...Registered 150 knockdowns and totaled 41 touchdown-resulting blocks.

2011 SEASON

Bergstrom earned All-Pac 12 Conference first-team honors, as the right offensive tackle started twelve games…Named to the Outland Trophy Watch List and was a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award candidate, an honor given for excellence both on and off the field. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I FBS senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, class-room, character and competition…Graded a team-high and career-best 85% for blocking consistency…Took on the role as mentor for a very young offensive line…Registered thirteen touchdown-resulting blocks…Added 58 knockdowns and graded 85% or better vs. Montana State (88%), Oregon State (91%), Pittsburgh (85%), UCLA (90%), Washington State (89%) and Colorado (92%)…The young offense placed 109th in the nation (among 119 colleges), averaging just 310.85 yards per game.

2010 SEASON

Bergstrom was named All-Mountain west Conference second-team by the league's coaches and media…He started all thirteen games at right tackle, grading 83% for blocking consistency, as he posted fifteen touchdown-resulting blocks and 48 knockdowns as part of an offensive line that ranked 13th in the nation in fewest quarterback sacks allowed (twelve)…Had a season-high 87% grade and two touchdown-resulting blocks vs. San Diego State…The offense averaged 389.0 yards in total offense per game, as the Utes ranked 23rd nationally in scoring (33.08 ppg).

2009 SEASON

The sophomore received Academic All-Mountain West Conference honors, as Bergstrom started all thirteen games at right tackle…Produced 41 knockdowns and delivered twelve touchdown-resulting blocks…Graded 81% for blocking consistency, with a career-best mark of 95% as he also made one touchdown-resulting block vs. Brigham Young…The Utes averaged 389.54 yards per game and the front wall allowed 20 sacks for minus 121 yards.

2008 SEASON

Bergstrom returned from his church mission and saw action in twelve games…Earned his first career start when he lined up at left tackle vs. Nevada-Las Vegas, finishing with two knockdowns and one touchdown-resulting vs. the Rebels…Named Academic All-MWC and to the Utah Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

2005 SEASON

Signed a national letter-of-intent to attend the University of Utah, but first left to serve on an LDS church mission for two years.

HIGH SCHOOL

Bergstrom attended Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, Utah…In 2004, he was an All-State selection, adding Region III Player of the Year and team Most Valuable Player honors while serving as squad captain…The three-year starter led Skyline to the state finals as a sophomore and junior…As a senior in 2004, Skyline won the region title and made the state semi-finals…Also lettered three years in basketball and twice in track…A three-time Honor Roll student and Academic All-State, pick, he was a College Board AP Scholar Award, along with receiving a National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame 2004 Scholar-Leader-Athlete nomination.

PERSONAL

Chemical Engineering major…Youngest of four sons of Lori and Steven Bergstrom...Both parents are Utah graduates...Cousin Ryan Roberts, played baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays (2006-07) and Texas (2008) before joining his present team as an infielder, the Arizona Diamondbacks (2009-present)…Married to the former Jessica Kruger, the sister of current Utes Dave (defensive tackle) and Joe (defensive end) Kruger and former Ute Paul Kruger. Paul was selected in the second round of the 2009 draft and is presently a defensive end for the Baltimore Ravens…Tony and Jessica have a daughter, Olivia...Born Steven Anthony Bergstrom on 8/08/86…Resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
