Henderson, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders announced today Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby as the team's club winner for the 2025 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide. The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide is the league's most prestigious honor, recognizing players who excel on the field and demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact beyond the game.
Crosby's performance on and off the gridiron serves as an example of what it means to be a Raider. He has consistently demonstrated a heartfelt dedication to making a positive impact on the community around him. As a nominee, Crosby will wear a Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year helmet decal through the end of the season in recognition of his accomplishments.
A team captain and the leader of the Raiders' defense, Crosby's relentless performance continued in 2025 as he leads the team with eight sacks despite battling double and triple-team blocking schemes with regularity. Crosby enters Week 14 with a team-high 23 tackles for loss, the second most in the NFL.
Among his many commendable endeavors off the field, the Maxx Crosby Foundation announced a powerhouse partnership with Hope for the City, making a commitment to tackle hunger, support youth drug prevention, and uplift more than 100,000 children and families across the Las Vegas Valley. This transformative gift will deliver food, critical resources, and hope to some of Southern Nevada's most vulnerable people—all year long. And they're not stopping there. The Maxx Crosby Foundation is also joining the starting lineup as a Title Sponsor of the first-ever Electric City Light Show—a high-energy, drive-thru holiday experience lighting up Las Vegas from November 12 through January 4. The Foundation's support will also help roll out The Hope Bus—a mobile outreach unit delivering food, clothing, hygiene products, and school supplies directly to Title I schools, making sure students and families receive what they need, where they need it. In addition, their gift will fund year-round drug prevention programs for middle and high school youth. It will also support forums for parents, educators, and community leaders—equipping families with practical tools to fight and prevent addiction.
In 2021, Credit One Bank and the Raiders kicked off One For The Community to combine charitable giving with the excitement happening on the field. For the 2025 season, the donations will benefit Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada and the Maxx Crosby Foundation. Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada and the Maxx Crosby Foundation are both focused on educating and empowering youth, providing them the foundation to build strong futures. Since 1996, Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada has helped local students develop financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurial skills through curated programs and hands-on education. The Maxx Crosby Foundation is dedicated to the support of teen substance abuse intervention, youth health and wellness, animal rescue and abuse prevention and an array of additional charitable causes. Together, these organizations reflect the mission of One For The Community to uplift and invest in the next generation.
The Maxx Crosby Foundation, in partnership with UFC and Walmart, hosted a back-to-school shopping spree for 50 underprivileged children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. The event featured a $10,000 donation from the foundation to the Boys & Girls Clubs. Each of the 50 kids received $200 to spend on school supplies at Walmart. The event included a pizza party hosted by Papa John's Las Vegas. The initiative aimed to provide essential school supplies to help the youth succeed in and out of the classroom.
City of Las Vegas Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske honored the Maxx Crosby Foundation on Wednesday December 3, 2025, at Las Vegas City Hall. The event recognized the foundation's impactful work in the community and the ongoing commitment to mental health and wellness.
All 32 club winners will be recognized for their achievements during the week leading up to Super Bowl LX in the Bay Area. The national winner of the 2025 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide will be announced during NFL Honors, a primetime awards special airing on Thursday, Feb. 5.
Each of this year's club winners supports a range of causes and initiatives off the field, including uplifting underserved communities, empowering young people to lead healthy lifestyles and many other notable causes. The charitable beneficiary of each team's club winner will receive up to $55,000, and the nonprofit chosen by the overall national winner will receive up to $265,000. All funds are donations, courtesy of the NFL Foundation and the Nationwide Foundation.
Fans are once again encouraged to participate in Nationwide's annual Charity Challenge, a social media and online contest that allows fans to show support for their favorite Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year club winner. Fans can vote on X/Twitter by posting #WPMOYChallenge along with the last name/X handle of their chosen player or by voting directly on NFL.com/ManOfTheYear. The charitable beneficiary of the player who receives the most collective hashtag mentions and online votes will win an additional $35,000 donation from Nationwide, with the nonprofit partners of the runner-up and third-place finishers receiving $10,000 and $5,000, respectively. Charity Challenge voting takes place from December 4 through January 5, 2026.
"As a company deeply rooted in a culture of caring and community support, Nationwide is honored to recognize the inspiring club winners for this year's Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award," said Ann Bair, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Nationwide. "We're proud to showcase these players and help amplify the causes they champion, celebrating the meaningful impact they're making far beyond the field."
