Oakland ganó el volado de la moneda y difirió su decisión para la segunda mitad. Troymaine Pope de los Chargers recibió la patada inicial y la devolvió 34 yardas desde su yarda uno hasta la 35 de su territorio. Jalen Richard devolvió el despeje ocho yardas hasta su yarda 29 desde donde la ofensiva tomó posesión del balón. Después de conseguir un primero y diez y avanzar 15 yardas, el novato Hunter Renfrow atrapó un pase de anotación de 56 yardas con 10:57 por jugar en el primer cuarto. El punto extra fue bueno y los Raiders tomaron una ventaja de 7-0.
En la consecuente serie ofensiva de los Chargers Ty Long despejó el balón jugadas al no conseguir un primero y diez la ofensiva local.
Richard solicitó recepción libre en su yarda 25. En la segunda jugada de la serie el ex Charger Tyrell Williams atrapó un pase de 43 yardas llegando a territorio enemigo. Sin embargo, Oakland no lograría conseguir otro primero y diez, en parte gracias a un castigo de 10 yardas, por lo que A.J. Cole despejó el balón el cual resultó en un touchback.
Los Ángeles tuvieron cero avance en tres jugadas y tuvieron que despejar el balón el cual fue devuelto 13 yardas por Hunter Renfrow después de un despeje de 57 yardas llegando hasta su propia yarda 36.
En la segunda jugada de la serie, Derek Carr fue capturado y una jugada después Oakland despejó el balón dejando a los Chargers en su yarda 10 después del intento de devolución por parte de Desmond King. Los Chargers consiguieron un primero y diez antes de que finalizará el primer cuarto, sin embargo, al inicio del segundo cuarto no consiguieron otro y despejaron el balón en cuarta y una yarda por avanzar.
Oakland hizo lo mismo después de conseguir un primero y diez en una recepción de 13 yardas por parte de Tyrell Williams ya que Carr fue capturado por Melvin Ingram en la siguiente jugada para una perdida de ocho yardas y de ahí que no lograron convertir en tercera oportunidad.
Rivers tomo las riendas de su ofensiva en su propia yarda 17 después del despeje y consecuente devolución. Los locales lograron llegar hasta su yarda 39 antes de que la defensiva de Oakland forzara otro despeje para el cual Renfrow solicitó recepción libre en su yarda 18.
Por segunda serie consecutiva, Carr fue capturado, en esta ocasión por Joey Bosa y Cole tuvo que despejar el balón al cabo de tres jugadas ofensivas el cual fue devuelto 11 yardas por King.
Rivers y compañía retomaron posesión del balón en su yarda 22 con 5:52 por jugar en el segundo cuarto. Un castigo por interferencia de pase en contra de Oakland llevó a los Chargers hasta su yarda 40 y dos jugadas después un pase de 17 yardas los dejó dentro de territorio enemigo. Tres jugadas después ya se encontraban en la yarda 11 de los Raiders. Otro castigo por interferencia de pase en contra de Oakland dejó a los Chargers en la yarda uno al llegar la pausa de los dos minutos previo al medio tiempo. Al regreso de la pausa Melvin Gordon anotó en un acarreo de una yarda. El punto extra fue bueno y el marcador se empató 7-7 faltando 1:54 por jugar en la primera mitad.
Keisean Nixon devolvió la patada de reinicio 25 yardas desde su línea de gol y Carr empezó a ejecutar la ofensiva de dos minutos llegando hasta el medio campo en dos jugadas. Con tercera y una por avanzar en la yarda 41 de los Chargers, los Raiders solicitaron tiempo fuera. Richard regresó al campo pero perdió una yarda en el acarreo, pero la ofensiva se mantuvo en el campo y en cuarta Richard atrapó un pase 10 yardas abandonando el campo por la banda faltando 58 segundos. Carr completó tres pases mas, dos de ellos a Renfrow, para llegar hasta la yarda tres de los Chargers desde donde Carr en tercera oportunidad anotaría en un acarreo. El punto extra fue bueno y Oakland retomó la ventaja, 14-7 faltando ocho segundos por jugar en el cuarto.
La patada de reinicio resultó en un touchback y Rivers se hincó para finalizar la primera mitad del partido.
La patada inicial de la segunda mitad resultó en un touchback por lo que Oakland tomó posesión del balón en su yarda 25. Al cabo de cuatro jugadas ya se encontraban en territorio de los Chargers. Gruden optó por reestablecer el ataque terrestre para controlar el reloj y combinando a DeAndre Washington con Jalen Richard acarreando el balón llegaron hasta 11 de los Chargers después de consumir ocho minutos del tercer cuarto. Dos jugadas después Washington anotó en un acarreo de cinco yardas. El punto extra fue bueno y los Raiders aumentaron su ventaja a 21-7 con 6:11 por jugar en el tercer cuarto.
La patada de reinicio fue devuelta hasta la yarda 17 de los Chargers y desde ahí Rivers fue guiando a los locales en un avance meticuloso hasta llegar a la yarda uno desde donde Melvin Gordon anotó de nuevo en un acarreo de una yarda. El punto extra fue bueno y con 1:04 por jugar en el tercer cuarto los Chargers se acercaron en el marcador, 21-14.
Nixon devolvió la patada de reinicio hasta su yarda 23 y Oakland se ocupó en quemar tiempo de juego consumiendo mas de siete minutos los cuales abarcaron el cambio de cuarto al mantener un ataque balanceado y avanzar lo suficiente para al menos conectar un gol de campo de 48 yardas por parte de Carlson el cual aumentó la ventaja de los Raiders a 24-14 con poco mas de ocho minutos por jugar en el partido.
La patada de reinicio resultó en otro touchback y Los Ángeles iniciaron en su yarda 25. Pase de 20 yardas de Rivers los puso en su yarda 45 pero en la siguiente jugada el novato Clelin Ferrell los retrasó 14 yardas y con ello jugadas después tuvieron que despejar el balón.
Oakland retomó posesión en su yarda 32 después de la devolución del despeje y logró llegar a medio campo antes de despejar el balón con 3:40 por jugar en el partido dejando a los Chargers en su yarda 10 por recepción libre. Rivers abandonó el ataque terrestre y completó 7 pases de 8 intentos para 76 yardas antes de la pausa de los dos minutos. Un castigo por fuera de lugar en la primera jugada después de la pausa dejó a los en la yarda nueve de los Raiders con primera y gol. A pesar de eso, Rivers lanzó tres pases incompletos y Los Ángeles se tuvieron que conformar con un gol de campo de 27 yardas para acercarse en el marcador, 24-17, faltando 1:29 por jugar. La patada corta fue recuperada por los Raiders en la yarda 49 de los Chargers.
Tres jugadas por tierra después los Raiders quemaron el resto del tiempo de juego y aseguraron la victoria para quedar con marca de 7-8 con un partido por disputar en el 2019.
